U2 Posting Dull Photos to Twitter on 360 Tour

The new U2 album isn’t selling any copies, so the band has decided to join Twitter in a desperate attempt to appeal to a younger demographic. The U2_360Tour feed thankfully doesn’t contain any text from the band. Instead, it’s full of photos taken on their current tour, which are mostly intimate, out-of-focus shots of the band members and their surroundings.

A red carpet theme runs through the set, serving to demonstrate just how important Bono and the boys really are. Other photos are incredibly dull and somewhat baffling—did we really need to see this picture from a car window? Twitter user U2girl1 appears to think so: “Love You Guys!” is her baffling tweet in response to the shot.

Hopefully the Twitter feed will become less mundane at the tour progresses. But for anyone wanting to look at a plate of food that Bono may or may not have eaten, or some jewelry that might be worn by the Edge, U2_360Tour is a treasure trove of photographic goodness.

New Album not selling any copies?? Have you checked the top selling albums worldwide for 2009? You may want to do your homework first. Funny the Tour is selling out too. Doesn't sound like they are hurting too much. Pointless.....

Gee, Nick, hate U2 much? It's nice to read such unbiased reporting (lol). By the way, the album just went platinum, so saying its selling "no copies" is rather silly. Also, the 360 tour is selling out almost every venue (and Ill be at the Vegas show in October), so I doubt they need to "desperately" appeal to the kind of young person that would prefer vapid trash like "My Life Would Suck Without You" over the brilliant "Magnificent". The new U2 album is experimental and challenging, and they undoubtedly knew that when they released it. Ill take that sort of sound over the churchy "mainstream" crap that came from the vastly overrated but "popular" ATYCLB. U2 are doing just fine, thank you, and the fact that NLOTH doesnt want to roll over and beg the masses to scratch its tummy is a positive thing in my opinion. "Unforgettable Fire" got the same sort of reception in 1985, and its now considered to be a great album by many people (which I always thought it was, with the exception of the nearly unlistenable "Elvis Presley and America"). So if you want to dislike them and their new album, that's fine, but dont cloak it in lame complaints about their "Twitter" feed. Im sure they meant it to be taken far less seriously than you think it should be, and certainly not to appeal to a "younger demographic". If you arent a fan of them by this point, it would be ridiculous to think Twitter is gonna make you one.
