What would you do if you were holed up in Morocco with Brian Eno & Daniel Lanois? Me, I'd wax Eno's baldspot and ask Lanois which family member's soul Satan threatened to destroy if he didn't constantly have the reverb knob turned all the way to the right. But if you're U2, you're probably just going to write some songs, which is exactly what the four Irish gents are doing these days in Fez, Morocco. It's the first time that U2, Eno and Lanois have worked together purely in a songwriting context (the've collaborated on production many times in the past), so it should be interesting to see what sort of music bubbles to the surface. Maybe Eno's influence will hold sway and they'll release an album called Ambient U2: Music for SUVs?
About the writing process, Bono issued the following edict: "We have no plans for the music yet. We're just going to make it until we can't not put it out!" He then proceeded to save Africa.
