Prolific fuzzed-out garage rocker Ty Segall is hooking up with fellow Californian psychedelic-pop group White Fence for a collaborative full-length. The collection of new material is tentatively slated for an April release via Drag City and will be labeled with the awesomely fitting title of Hair. On the record, Segall will be handling the six-string axe as well as the drums on the collaborative effort while White Fence’s Tim Presley will be on bass and lead guitar.
If that wasn’t enough, the album will be followed by a collaborative tour, featuring all three of the acts, with Segall billed as the headliner. Surely this will be an epically psychedelic set of dates that will undoubtedly feature broken strings, flannel, acid being dropped and lots and lots of hair. Can’t wait.
Unsurprisingly this won’t be all we hear from Ty Segall in 2012. The rock-a-holic is in the act of completing his next solo album which is slated for a September release date.
