Fest mania: Durham, Duke, and indie rock
When one thinks of Duke University and its locale in Durham, North Carolina, one probably thinks of these things: academia, crazy basketball fans, and troubling racial tension. But did you know the area also hosts a stellar music festival? It's called Troika, and this year's incarnation is going down over the span of October 27-November 16. Playing the fest are such laudable acts as Jennifer O'Connor, Les Savy Fav, David Bazan, Carol Bui, Bodies of Water, Phosphorescent, All Smiles, David Karsten Daniels, and Ivan Howard of the Rosebuds. Head to the fest's website for the full schedule and ticket information.
