Trent Reznor recently claimed he would be working on new Nine Inch Nails material in 2012, but he has the small matter of the How to Destroy Angels album to deal with first. Reznor is currently celebrating the release of his soundtrack to David Fincher’s The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, but he’s clearly already thinking about moving on.
“[We are] finishing our full-length record, which has fully matured our sound into something that is very unique,” he said in an interview with Rolling Stone, on How to Destroy Angels. “I can’t wait for that record to come out, actually probably [in the] first quarter of next year.
As for the sound of the record, Reznor says it may surprise a few people. “[This] sounds like How to Destroy Angels now, instead of sounding like other stuff, so I’m proud of that and I’m excited to unleash it into the wild here,” he said. "How To Destroy Angels has been an interesting creative outlet. I think when people hear what we’ve been up to, it will be very validating on my part."
