But yes, leave it to the ever-evolving artist's contribution to The Social Network actually to lead him to potential Hollywood gold at the 68th annual event.
Reznor along with collaborator Atticus Ross have been nominated for Best Original Score for their efforts on the David Fincher-directed film, which has virtually earned kudos from every critic this year, swept the National Board of Review honors earlier this month and is being touted as the favorite to win Best Picture next year at the Oscars.
Reznor and Ross's 19-track Social Network opus, which bears striking resemblance to the duo's NIN work over the past five years, faces some formidable competition from the like of Hans Zimmer's Inception score. Read full list of nominations here. [via Pitchfork]
