"These should be cool, unusual and unique shows and I hope you come out - this is it." Reznor wrote today on nin.com, speaking of what are to be the final live NIN shows ever (allegedly). Oddly, "this is it" is what Jackson repeated at the press conference for his fatal run of shows at London's O2 arena, but that probably doesn't mean anything, right?
These final shows are taking place in New York, LA, and Chicago, at venues that are pretty small for Nine Inch Nails (Bowery Ballroom, Terminal 5, Webster Hall in New York; The Wiltern, Henry Fonda, Echoplex and Palladium in LA; The Aragon Ballroom in Chicago), and Reznor promises "longer set-lists, possible special guests, cool openers and other surprises." The openers so far are Mew and the Horrors.
There are no solid dates for any of the shows yet, but the dates are set to start on Aug. 22.
