Fest mania: musical gold at Treasure Island

With Bonnaroo now behind us, it's time to announce...you guessed...yet another music festival. September 15 and 16 will bring the first annual Treasure Island Music Festvial to San Francisco's Treasure Island. Bet you thought it was going to be at the Vegas casino of the same name, no? Slated to play the Bay Area bash are Modest Mouse (pictured), M.I.A., Spoon, Built to Spill, Thievery Corporation, M. Ward, Clap Your Hands Say Yeah, DJ Shadow and Cut Chemist, Earlimart, Ghostland Observatory, Kid Beyond, and Zion I. The same people that have their hands in Frisco's Noise Pop Festival have helped plan this one as well. Tickets go on sae this Sunday. You can head to the fest's site for more details.

How many of these things can be supported? Remember when Lolla had to be canceled due to lack of interest. Was it just that the bill was so bad? What's changed?
