Jay Reatard is certainly one of indie rock's most colorful characters, with his tendency to speak without a filter, and punch people in the face. Considering that, it's only fitting that Reatard is getting his own (short) documentary. Waiting for Something was directed by Alex Hammond and Ian Markiewicz, and "explores in detail Jay's personal history and his roots in Memphis music," according to the Matador Records blog. Not a lot seems to be happening in the above trailer, but the documentary is free, so checking it out can't hurt.
Waiting for Something premieres Aug. 4 on Myspace.
