(Via: Nah Right) While we sit around twiddling our thumbs, waiting for Saigon's LP to drop, we bring you this little appetizer to keep you satiated. This beat is pretty simple and repetitive, but those pulsating strings add a hypnotizing depth to it. Unfortunately, the folks in our newsroom were too busy guzzling grape Fanta to figure out who to credit for the beat. So whoever you are, Mr. Producer Man (or Lady), nice work here. Saigon's verse is the strongest both in flow and content. Did we mention we're waiting for the full-length to see the light of day? A lot of emcees drop a line or a verse about Third World struggles, but they're usually wedged between their paeans to bitches and ice. Saigon is the only emcee we can think of that also started a nonprofit organization. (It's not to do with Third World struggles, but you get the idea.) Game's verse isn't too shabby, though as one commenter at XXL.com pointed out, dude drops so many names in his rhymes it's kinda ridiculous. (And we're wondering if he knows/cares that Kool G Rap dropped that line about lifting guns vs. weights about a decade ago.) B.G.'s drawl sounds out of place next to the other two emcees, but as a New Orleans peep, he's more than qualified to rap about pain and loss. Seriously though ... drop the LP or change the name already, because those "Greatest Story Never Told" jokes write themselves. Saigon feat. Game and B.G.: "Pain In My Life (Remix)" [Edit: The audio on this was all screwy. Go here to listen to the song not sped up like chipmunks on meth.]
The track is produced by Cocoa Chanelle, better known as a Hot 97 DJ.

well, there you go. thanks raf!

The chipmunk sound is due to the rate the song was encoded at. I don't think the wordpress audio plug-in has a fix for it yet. I'm dying to hear a proper Saigon album.
