Track Review: New Pornographers "Myriad Harbor"

Strings, harmonica and pouty speak-singing? Well this is new! Not content to be one of the best pure power pop bands in North America, looks like The New Pornographers are going all inventive on us with "Myriad Harbor," a track from their soon-to-be-issued Challengers. Seems like an ode to New York. Love that line "I walked into a local record store and asked for an American music anthology/It sounds fine." - it sorta ironically swings at the irrelevance of the New Pornographers' Canadian provenance.

i thought he's saying 'it sounds fun.' works either way, though...great track.

Bejar's songwriting is so much better than AC Newman's. Period. But hasn't this decade proved that the Canadian music scene is anything but irrelevant?

And isn't it spelled "Harbour"? Guess the Canadian thing isn't that irrelevant to NP.
