Track Review: M83 "Sister (Part 2)"

French shoegaze savant Anthony Gonzalez, better known as the sole survivor of M83, founded his low key Digital Shades series of between album releases to follow his creative impulses without all the press and pressure of a "proper" album. The first volume, released last week, reaches for the still, dreamy textures of ambient pioneer Brian Eno. Though most of the pieces are wordless, Gonzalez sprinkles a few vague sighs among his synths. "Stay away from me" he pleads during the brief "Sister (Part 2)," though the angelic tones around him make it hard to register any kind of fear or urgency. Mainly it's just beautiful music to nod off to. That sounds dismissive, but it's a perfectly valid utility, really.

this cover reminds me of Kanye's album cover. Kanye probably stole the idea. Go 50!!!

Is the loud version of M83 dead?

I think this is just a placeholder until the next disc, which could be loud...
