Track review: Ferraby Lionheart "Vermont Avenue"

Much blogged-about L.A. singer-songwriter Ferraby Lionheart is currently wrapping up a tour with Mason Jennings, but expect to hear a lot more about him in the ramp-up to the release of his first album Catch the Brass Ring this summer. This track wraps Lionheart's empathic vocals around an elegantly economical melody and equally pithy lyrics (a romantic ode to both love and the track's namesake street in LA's Los Feliz neighborhood). The finger-style guitar and strings arrangement is pretty reminiscent of Mr. Elliott Smith's more elaborate settings, but there's a warmth to this track that sets Lionheart apart.
