Track Review- Andrew Bird "Elizabeth the 1st" ringtone
Is it too early to crown "Elizabeth the 1st" as "ringtone of the year?" While its brevity alone keeps this 30-second instrumental clip from classic status in the ever-deepening Andrew Bird canon, it's got all the Bird trademarks: looped violin plucks, swooping strings, light acoustic guitar and, of course, Bird's inimitable whistling. Named after the town in Illinois where Bird grew up, "Elizabeth the 1st" was recorded for the Illinois Bureau of Tourism, and is available as a free MP3 ringtone on the Bureau's website. Or you can just listen to it here and avoid the possibility of getting annoyed by it within an hour.
