There’s been a lot of speculation about what music President elect Barack Obama will be playing at his inauguration, but one record company is more concerned with sound tracking his election win: Hidden Beach Recordings is selling a soundtrack album called Yes We Can: Voices of a Grassroots Movement in stores now. (The album was released digitally as a fundraising tool back in September, but is now going to be sold in stores.)
The track list from the album pulls from artists that have been mentioned as Obama’s favorites (like Kanye, Stevie Wonder, and Jackson Browne) and other artists that have been riding the Obama bandwagon (like Sheryl Crow, Lionel Richie, and um, Dave Stewart).
Among the noticeable omissions are Obama faves the Fugees and Jay-Z, who is rumored to be the entertainment for Obama’s inauguration.
Here’s the full list:
Lionel Richie: Eternity
Stevie Wonder: Signed, Sealed, Delivered, I’m Yours
John Mayer: Waiting For The World To Change
Dave Stewart: American Prayer
Shotelle: Battle Cry
Los Lonely Boys: Make It Better
John Legend: Pride, In the Name of Love
BeBe Winans: I Have A Dream
Suai: Am I All Alone?
Jill Scott: One Is The Magic #
Ozomatli: Love and Hope
Jackson Browne: Looking East
Sheryl Crow: Out Of Our Heads
Malik Yusef with Kanye West and Adam Levine of Maroon 5: Promised Land
Yolanda Adams: Hold On
Keb’ Mo’: America The Beautiful
Ken Stacey: America
Buddy Miller: Wide River To Cross
