I think it's safe to assume that nearly everyone loved the hell out of Torche's fantastic 2008 album, Meanderthal. The mix of balls-out rocking and huge hooks made for an updated take on the catchier grunge/metal of the early '90s without all the sad-sack bullshit and dirty hair. And after they spent most of the past 18 months touring the world, the Miami-based group is back with an EP. Songs for Singles is apparently a to-the-point project as its eight tracks only have 20-minute running time. Get ready for some punk-driven metal numbers, then, to go along with that split 10" with Boris.
Songs for Singles is due out Sept. 21.
