'Top Gun' Director Tony Scott Jumps To Death Off Bridge

Tony Scott, the man responsible for Top Gun, took his own life by jumping off the Vincent Thomas bridge in San Pedro on Sunday afternoon.

According to witnesses, the 68-year-old director climbed over a fence and jumped off the bridge without hesitation at 12:30 pm. His body was found four hours later by the Los Angeles Police Department, California Highway Patrol and U.S. Coast Guard officials.

Scott left contact information in his black Prius, which was parked on the bridge, and investigators later found a suicide note in his office. The brother of director Ridley Scott, Tony also directed True Romance, Enemy of The State and Beverly Hills Cop II, as well as producing the CBS series' The Good Wife and Numb3rs with his brother.

Iconic in his red baseball cap, Tony Scott will truly be missed.
