As reported last week, San Antonio Spurs guard Tony Parker was injured during the Drake-Chris Brown brawl in New York City last week. What’s coming to light now is that the French native needed surgery since cornea was scratched in the fight. The procedure was to remove a shard that had “penetrated 99 percent” of his left eye.
“I almost lost my eye,” Parker said in an interview posted on his website Sunday. “Anything can happen, including me being out of the Olympics. The decision doesn’t belong to me anymore. It’s in the hands of the doctor and San Antonio.”
Parker said he has been having hallucinations and hasn’t left his hotel room in eight days due of the risk of infection. He’s also to apply five different products into his eye every two hours.
He’s in the midst of suing the club and if this eye injury prevents him from playing basketball for extended period of time, expect a major financial and legal fallout to stem from this incident.
