Via: Billboard Tom Waits has reached a settlement with German carmaker Adam Opel AG in his lawsuit against the company. Waits filed suit against the General Motors subsidiary for using a Waits sound-alike in a series of commercials in 2005 after he had refused numerous requests to lend his voice to the ads. Financial details of the settlement weren't disclosed, but Waits had been seeking $300,000 or more in the suit. In a statement released today, Waits said "I'm glad to be out of the car sales business once and for all," and that the net proceeds from the settlement will be donated to an undisclosed charity.
