Tom Morello, guitar player for Rage Against the Machine, Audioslave, and The Street Sweeper Social Club is working on a new, solo rock album. This won't be his first individual album, as he has released four folk-rock albums under the alter-ego, The Nightwatchman. The new record that he is working on though, is going to be a different type of album.
"The idea is that this is the Hendrix of now," he told Billboard. Morello says that he is "in the midst of making [his] first solo big rock record," and that he hopes to "make the craziest guitar record that anyone's ever heard."
While his goals for the record are high, Morello says that it has been while touring with Bruce Springsteen and the E-Street Band that he was inspired to make the album. "I realized that there might be a way to combine all the things I do as a songwriter and a guitar player, and this record is going to be that."
While Morello didn't provide any more information on the upcoming album, you can check him out on Bruce Springsteen's new album, here, and get a taste of might be in store.
