The motion picture adaptation of the Broadway musical Rock of Ages will star none other than Tom Cruise. As NME reports, Cruise will don the role aging rocker Stacee Jaxx, which includes singing Bon Jovi's "Wanted Dead or Alive" and Styx's "Renegade."
Though Cruise might be famous for lip-syncing Bob Segar's "Old Time Rock and Roll" in the 1983 film Risky Business, he has yet to take a role that requires much vocal dexterity. In fact, Cruise's most rocking moment might have taken place in 1996's Jerry Maguire which featured this car sing-a-long to Tom Petty's "Free Fallin'."
Anne Hathaway is currently heavily rumored to be cast in the role of Sherrie, who along with Cruise will sing a duet of Foreigner's classic ballad "I Want to Know What Love Is." [Billboard]
