Brazilian Girls/She Wants Revenge @ Avalon, 2/7The less said about drone-snore duo She Wants Revenge the better, but for those who want to see a great opening act and then get to bed at a reasonable hour, Brazilian Girls will suffice, although you may be a little too hopped up afterwards to fall asleep. As fun as the headliners are staid, Brazilian Girls center around non-Brazilian Sabina Sciubba, who fronts non-girls Jesse Murphy, Didi Gutman, and Aaron Johnston. The sound is that of a KCRW pledge drive gone horribly wrong, the energy casual yet palpable. They may not sell as many records right now as She Wants Revenge, but they'''re also less likely to end up in the clearance dustbins in two years. (ML)
