Tinted Windows Announce April 21 Release of Self-Titled Debut

When news (and comment thread diatribes) broke last week regarding alleged "supergroup" Tinted Windows, which features James Iha, Taylor Hanson, Adam Schlesinger (of Fountains of Wayne) and Bun E. Carlos (of Cheap Trick), inquiring minds began to ask: How could of those four people have gotten together? And why? Does Taylor Hanson still look like a girl?

Well, the band has announced their debut album, Tinted Windows, and it's release date, which is April 21 via S-Curve Records. In the announcement for the album, the band also revealed how they got together, and it goes like this:

Hanson met Schlesinger, and they liked each other. They said they should work together. Iha met Schlesinger, they actually worked together, and own Scratchie Records and a studio together. All three started working on a power pop record together, and decided they needed a drummer like Bun E. Carlos from Cheap Trick. They then realized that Carlos has been touring fairs, so he has nothing better to do. He joins them. The band cut a record, called themselves Tinted Windows, and the rest is "history."

The band has a few dates lined up at SXSW in March, will play Bamboozle, and has lined up a tour of clubs along the east coast. The band has also been booked to appear on Letterman on April 20.

So there you have it kiddies. Judging by that picture up there, Bun E. Carlos is also the band's insurance salesman.
