Tim Goldsworthy, the lesser known half of the DFA production duo with LCD Soundsystem's James Murphy, has apparently left the label/production group he helped form. Goldsworthy recently moved to the U.K., and hasn't contacted anyone at DFA. He's still a legal partner in the label, but he's no longer working with them. Here's what label manager Jonathan Galkin told Resident Advisor:
"Tim Goldsworthy moved away to somewhere in the United Kingdom, without informing anyone here at DFA. We have had no word from him since he left the United States. So we moved on with our lives and our business. Simple as that. He most definitely took a piece of us when he left, but we wish him the best with whatever he gets up to next."
Divorce in dance-punk land is never pretty, folks. But I guess DFA (the production duo) hasn't been doing much together since their production work early last decade. Murphy's been too busy with LCD Soundsystem. [P4K]
