Sonic sorcerer Tim Fite is all done stitching together his new full-length album. It's entitled Fair Ain't Fair, and is slated for a May 6 release via Anti-. Apparently Fite likes this whole "word ain't word" construction for an album title, as Fair Ain't Fair is the follow-up to 2005's Gone Ain't Gone (not counting some web ephemera Fite released last year). Marla Hansen, who has also worked with Sufjan Stevens, Kanye West, and others, guests on the album. Fite will head down to Austin for South by Southwest, playing with the likes of DeVotchKa, Man Man, and more at the Anti- Records showcase March 13 at the Cedar Street Courtyard. After that, Fite hits the road with fellow eclectic musical auteur Les Claypool.
