Tift Merritt to release new album after four-year hiatus

Former Lost Highway recording artist Tift Merritt is gearing up to release
Another Country on February 26, her first on Concord Music Group’s Fantasy
Records. It will also be her first full-length since she released her
critically acclaimed sophomore album, Tambourine -- one of the decade's
better alt-country records -- in 2004. (She spent the ensuing years in
Paris.) If things were justified down on Nashville’s Music Row, this is
the current trend modern country would be following: simple, cohesive,
downright beautiful songwriting. That's evidenced by Another Country's
“Keep You Happy,” which you can download here. She's also scheduled
some live dates:

01.11 Brooklyn, NY: Union Hall
03.17 Philadelphia, PA: Johnny Brenda’s
03.18 Northampton, MA: Iron Horse Music Hall
03.21 Alexandria, VA: Birchmere Music Hall
03.28 New Orleans, LA: House of Blues, Parish Room

I have a copy of her cover of A Hard Rain's A-Gonna Fall from her stint at the I'm Not There Concert. I've been listening to it nonstop since I got it.
