Tiesto Tops Forbes Richest DJ List

Forbes, as it loves to do, has ranked another segment of society based on individual net worth. This time, the magazine is turning its eyes to one of the biggest cash cows in modern music: electronic. Forbes unveiled the ten highest-paid DJs, dubbing them the “Electronic Cash Kings.”

And the winner is? Tiesto, unsuprisingly, since the Dutch producer also beats out all his electronic peers in the net worth category. Forbes’s list, however, just takes into account the last twelve months of earnings, and in that timeframe, Tiesto raked in $22 million, with a nightly average of $250,000. Number two is Skrillex with $15 million, and Swedish House Mafia round out the top three with $14 million, though the group presumably splits their earnings three ways. Seems like now is as good a time as any to get into the DJ game, money-wise. Or you could just be a reality star: Jersey Shore meathead Pauly D comes in at number 7, earning $11 million from gigs over the past year. Read the full list below. [Billboard]
