Ticketmaster To Refund "Processing Fees"

Ticketmaster To Refund "Processing Fees"

If you bought tickets via Ticketmaster between Oct. 21, 1999, and Oct. 19, 2011, you probably received an e-mail in the last 24 hours informing you of something quasi-awesome: As part of a class action lawsuit, Ticketmaster is going to be refunding ticket buyers for the money they paid in "processing fees." Those fees, which have long been a sticking point in people hating Ticketmaster, as alleged in the lawsuit, were totally unnecessary, and Ticketmaster has just opted to settle instead of being found guilty of bending over ticket buyers.

There is one catch, however. The maximum amount of money anyone can get is $25.50, and all payouts will be paid to Ticketmaster users via Ticketmaster gift cards. So, basically, you will be reimbursed for Ticketmaster hosing you on fees by getting an opportunity to use Ticketmaster at a discount. I guess that's progress? {DS]
