T.I. Sentenced to One Year in Prison
As expected when he took a plea last March on weapons charges, T.I. was sentenced to one year in prison today in an Atlanta court. T.I. has between 30 and 60 days to report to prison to start his sentence.
Last March, T.I. agreed to a plea deal that would require him to do the year in prison, a year under house arrest (which he has done 305 days of) and do about 1,500 hours of community service, of which T.I. has completed close to a 1,000. T.I had faced more than 20 years, so he is getting by with a bargain.
It's still kind of shocking that a person as famous as T.I. could end up behind bars, especially since T.I. spent a lot of time with the community and filming a reality show, Road to Redemption , that had him trying to help change some youth's lives. Even a U.N. ambassador speaking at his sentencing couldn't get him out. [ AP ]

There was a chance he'd get it further reduced. I thought he seemed remorseful and yes, the MTV show he made was good for the kids.
This is pretty weird. How do you record a duet with Justin Timberlake and then go to prison for a whole year? Doesn't Gucci Mane seem like the one who should be in jail for a year?
I think anyone be'd remorseful facing up to 4-5 years in the pen. Hopefully he'll change for the better out of this, but then some of me thinks all of his remorse and TV shows is nothing more than PR at work.

i thought like, he should face more then a year, and everything hes facing. even if he did go around on road to redemption, helping out the kids. im not taking credit from that, b.c. it was a really good series, and i hope when he gets out, he does more of it, but for having the weapons he did, he should have gotten like 3 years, with more community service time

this is BS, ur sayin t.i gets a year for being strapped, and gucci mane went and killed some1 and he gets off with a $100,000 bond?????? yea right, are goverment is f'cked up. cmon. but t.i. will be alright. cant wait till he gets out cause there will be alot more songs.
