Thriller the Musical

In yet another example of things that were just fine the way they were being remade, Thriller – the Michael Jackson album that made an indelible impression on so many of our childhoods and permanently raised the bar for music videos – is being turned into a Broadway musical. Yes, producer James Nederlander has confirmed that he has acquired the rights to a stage version of the album, and that the musical will include songs from both Thriller and Jackson’s 1979 album Off The Wall. The Broadway production will cull much of its plot from the video version of Thriller.  

In an interview with the Associated Press, Nederlander said, "I love the idea of making Thriller a musical. Girl meets boy, they fall in love, boy has big secret, now what?"

The myriad jokes that fit here are waaaay too obvious, so we’ll take the high road and say nothing.[Source: NME]
