The Coachella lineup was announced yesterday (Jan. 19) and there are some mouthwatering additions to the festival. Among those is a rare solo performance from Radiohead singer Thom Yorke, who appears to be indulging in a love affair with California after playing a few low key shows there in 2009.
The lineup of his backing band will mirror that of those shows, with Flea from the Red Hot Chili Peppers and producer Nigel Godrich once again taking part. Yorke appeared as a co-host on Giles Peterson’s Radio 1 show in England, and talked about a set of shows he has planned for the band.
“The Eraser Band that I got together, we’re going to do something, hopefully in April,” he said. “Just small gigs, and then maybe that’s going to lead somewhere as well – there’s lots of stuff going on.” He also talked about Radiohead’s plans. “There’s a lot that’s underway at the moment,” he continued. “My trouble is trying to keep up, but I prefer it that way.”
