Nuclear power is back in the news in the U.K., with the government planning to open up 10 nuclear power stations. Radiohead couldn’t let such plans go by without comment, and Thom Yorke has taken to the band’s official website to make a statement about the traumatic proposals.
"Under the confused assumption that we can carry on consuming power as we do now into the future and too afraid to think out of their own isolated political fuzzy cloud, the British government is committing to build a new round of nuclear power stations for which we don't have the money,” he wrote.
"Great. Just perfect. Well done fellas. You've really thought about this haven't you?" His statement ends with some important links, one to an article on Greenpeace about nuclear energy and a similar piece from Friends of the Earth. The message is titled: Nuclear Power No Thanks.
