Digital music retailer Bleep is celebrating its fifth birthday by canvassing opinion on the best tracks the service has to offer. Bleep, which is an offshoot of Warp Records, contains hundreds of tracks from some of the best independent labels in the business. To pay tribute to the site, Thom Yorke, Four Tet, Holy Fuck, Maximo Park and many others have picked their five favorite songs in the Bleep catalogue. Yorke’s choices err toward the kind of minimal electronica that he has favored for many years. But the Radiohead frontman also finds time to enthuse about Kevin Martin’s dubstep project The Bug, and includes a track from Tricky’s Knowle West Boy album.
Highlights from the other lists include some excellent entries from Trunk label boss Jonny Trunk, and a selection from enigmatic rave pastiche artist Zomby, who chooses his own Where Were U in 92? as one of his favorite downloads. The full list can be viewed here. [Music Radar]
