Baria Qureshi, keyboardist and guitarist for The xx, was mysteriously absent from the band’s post-CMJ London homecoming show on Oct. 28. Her bandmates chalked it up to exhaustion, but when they subsequently cancelled several European tour dates, rumors started to circulate. Was Qureshi leaving the band for good?

The answer is yes, says band member Romy Madley Croft:

Baria has left the band. I guess “personal differences” would be the standard way to say it. I guess it's just the intensity of being on tour, things are so much heightened.

Croft also announced that the band will not look for a replacement for Qureshi, and that The xx will continue on as a trio. [NME]
