The BBC started their own music festival last year called BBC Philharmonic Presents..., and in this year's edition, their in-house orchestra will team up with one of the most in-demand British acts: The xx.
The group has been commissioned to write an original work with composer Alex Baranowski, and they'll perform that work with the BBC Philharmonic on September 19 at a free show in Bridlington, which is in the northeast of England. Baranowski says the show would feature "a mixture of arrangements of songs" from the xx's first two albums, "along with some new orchestral material."
Other BBC Philharmonic Presents... shows include the music of Miles Davis and James Bond films. The xx's sophomore album, Coexist, comes out September 11. [Fact]
UPDATE: Tickets are free, but will be availble via a random draw through BBC's ticket website.
