The xx Hope To Have "Club-Inspired" New Album Out By Festival Season
Last month, The xx announced that they had begun recording their sophomore album, the follow-up to their excellent 2009 album, XX. In a recent interview, Jamie xx revealed that the band hopes to have the album out by this summer's festival season, and the album will bear a new kind of influence:
We've all come back off tour and [have] kind of been partying a little bit more. So club music has definitely had an influence on the next record.
Other than that, there's no other news about the album. But still: the xx's new album is at the top of our most anticipated for 2012 for sure. If they want to do more club music, or whatever, it's cool with us. [NME]
