Jack White may have been in trouble recently for his desire to make a few bucks off limited edition wax released on his Third Man label, but at least that mode of issuing records has been consistent throughout his career. Back in 2001 The White Stripes released a selection of Captain Beefheart covers as part of the Sub Pop singles club, which has long since been out of print.
Now, as part of a tribute to the late Don Van Vliet, White is re-releasing the single, which you can obtain by heading over to this page and joining the Vault at the Third Man website. Other goodies currently available from the Vault include a double album containing all the limited singles the label put out last year. You need to join up before Jan. 31 to get your hands on these items, but it appears to be more than worth it.
