The View cancels North American tour

As a result of some unexpected visa and immigration issues, Scottish rock foursome The View has been forced to cancel its upcoming North American tour, including an appearance at SXSW. (The band promises to reschedule the tour.) A further fall-out of these events is that the band's debut album, Hats off to the Buskers, will now only see a North American release, on May 8. It's a tough break, seeing as the band had been building a nice bit of buzz in its native U.K. Here's the list of canceled dates:
03-03 New York, NY - Luna Lounge
03-05 Toronto, ON - Lee's Place
03-07 Chicago, IL - Schuba's Tavern
03-09 Seattle, WA - Crocodile Café
03-11 San Francisco, CA - Slim's
03-13 Hollywood, CA - Troubadour
03-15-17 Austin, TX - SXSW
03-20 New York, NY - Bowery Ballroom
03-22 Cambridge, MA - T.T. The Bears

They're not going to influence anyone anytime soon, but this puts a damper on NME bands owning the entire month of March.
