The Twilight Sad to Release Sophomore Album September 22

More diligent fans may have already heard some of the tracks from The Twilight Sad’s sophomore album, Forget The Night Ahead, which releases September 22. The Scotland quartet aired the songs on their recent tour with Mogwai, and the track “Reflections Of The Television” hit Pitchfork.tv in May. Forthcoming single “I Became A Prostitute” will drop on July 20. The album was produced by Andy MacFarlane, the guitarist, with help from Paul Savage of another indie band from Glasgow, Delgados. They produced it at Chem19 Studios, which has also accommodated Mogwai, Arab Strap, Franz Ferdinand and Teenage Fanclub. Expect more of their signature tremelo’d guitar, thick melancholic tones, and movement from tension to melody in big strokes. We’re also hoping for more of the dark, dark content that frontman James Graham promised to deliver in an interview with The Skinny: “The lyrics … are mainly based around things that have happened to me over the past two years, revolving mainly around losing people and being none too proud or happy with myself about my antics and situations I've found myself in.” Oh Graham… is that literal prostitution that you speak of? Say it’s true.

The Twilight Sad will tour the U.S. this fall. Here’s the track list:

1. Reflection Of The Television

2. I Became A Prostitute

3. Seven Years of Letters

4. Made To Disappear

5. Scissors

6. The Room

7. That Birthday Present

8. Floorboards Under The Bed

9. Interrupted

10. The Neighbours Can't Breathe

11. At The Burnside
