The Trons start indie robot rock movement in New Zealand

There must be something about New Zealand that inspires musical robots. First there was the Flight of the Conchords epic “Robots,” which included perhaps the first ever rock solo recorded in binary. Now the Kiwis have dispensed with the people impersonating droids, and given the world The Trons, a fully functioning musical outfit comprised entirely of robots. According to the band’s Myspace, The Trons are comprised of Ham on vox and rhythm guitar, Wiggy on a single string lead, and Swamp on drums. A keyboard player, Fifi, was also recently added to the band. In addition to having a presence on the web, The Trons have scheduled two actual live shows (though that might be kind of an oxymoron for a band made up of robots). [Gizmodo]
