The Submarines Cover New Order, Jesus & Mary Chain On New EP

Energetic indie pop outfit The Submarines will release their latest project, the Shoelaces EP, next Tuesday, Dec. 20. It features a pair of stripped-down takes on "Shoelaces" and "Fire," both of which were originally heard on Love Notes/Letter Bombs, and a new version of their biggest hit yet, "You, Me, and the Bourgeoisie." If that track title doesn't sound familiar, here's a hint: it's that piano-led tune from the iPhone commercial. Yeaaa, there it is.

Anyway, more interestingly, the EP also boasts covers of New Order’s "Your Silent Face" and Jesus & Mary Chain’s "Just Like Honey." You can view the project's track listing and stream two tracks from the EP below. The whole thing is up for listening at Paste.
