The Strokes In The Studio (For Real This Time)

For about the 15th time in the last four years, The Strokes are back in the studio recording their fourth LP. It's apparently for real this time, since the band has committed itself to headlining some European festivals this summer (Isle of Wight and Rockness) and are promising some videos from the studio soon.

In the time since their last album, 2006's First Impressions of Earth, every member but Nick Valensi has done work with other bands ranging from solid (Fab Moretti's Little Joy, Julian Casblancas' solo material), meh (Albert Hammond) to the worst (Nikolai Fraiture's Nickel Eye). This new Strokes album is being produced by Joe Chiccarelli, who has produced White Stripes, My Morning Jacket and the Shins. [Pitchfork]

I'll be more interested when (if?) they start releasing things.
