The Strokes Are Working On Fifth Album

Are they or aren’t they? The world waits with breathless anticipation, and now Albert Hammond, Sr.–father of Strokes guitarist Albert Hammond, Jr.–has confirmed the group is working on a fifth album.

In an “isn’t that sweet” kind of way, Junior told Pops all about the new stuff: “Dad, it’s incredible.” The band is apparently hard at work on the follow-up to last year’s Angles, an album that fell apart nearly before it was heard due to the band’s acrimonious sniping at one another.

But reportedly the Strokes are in the studio “with their friend, engineer and producer.” No word yet on who the others are, but it seems like the Strokes are all together on this one.[NME]
