Mike Skinner of UK garage/hip hop group The Streets, which also notably featured Kevin Mark Trail and Johnny Drum Machine, has announced plans to release his own memoir. As the group is no more, Skinner's book will appropriately be titled The End of the Streets. The 352-page work was written with Ben Thompson, who also worked on autobiographical material for Russell Brand and comedian Vic Reeves.
The End, published by Bantam Books, will be in stores Mar. 29 and will contain never before seen photos of Skinner as a youth. The rapper/multi-instrumentalist was originally not going to include pictures until "the wife said i had to." Following that, Skinner's mother gave her son a stack of old photos, causing him to get "a bit emotional. where i'm starting school and that." He soon posted a picture of himself on his first school day and wrote this sentimental Disney reference about his daughter. [NME]
