Ian Brown doesn't think much good comes from band reunions: they're "only about the money," he told NME. So The Stone Roses won't be getting back together until Brown is "begging on the streets." Then he might be "doing The Stone Roses the next day." For fans of The Stone Roses the question now is, do you want Brown to suffer incredible personal hardship for the privilege of seeing an older version of your heroes tarnish your memory of the band?
Even though Brown is bracingly honest in his assessment of reunions, he doesn't think they're all bad. The Sex Pistols reunion, for example, he liked "because they never really got paid." OK, so that's still pretty stern, but you wouldn't want any sentimentality from Ian Brown anyway.
