(Via SOHH.com)Unintentional comedy fans, your prayers have been answered: Raymond "Benzino" Scott and publishing partner Dave Mays are launching a new venture.
After years of beefs with artists and other mags, dealing with staff run-ins with law enforcement, sexual harassment cases, and massive financial mismanagement, Benzino and Mays were ousted by The Source's board of directors earlier this year. They spent some time getting back to their bombastic roots, and have now announced plans for an urban celebrity gossip rag tentatively entitled The Truth.
New editorial hires Wendy Williams, who hosts her own pop culture/gossip radio show, and Vibe's recently deposed editor in chief, Mimi Valdes, have possibly waltzed into the cushiest jobs in America, as they'll need only to swivel their chairs to find all the material they need. But they better hope they never end up on the receiving end of an outburst like this.
