
After six months of speculation (started by a report last summer), The Shins have announced they are leaving Sub Pop. The label helped the band achieve the highest level of indie rock success, releasing their three albums to big acclaim and accolades (including one from Natalie Portman in Garden State ). No word on where the band will land label-wise, but speculation is that they'll self-release their albums from here on out.
Meanwhile, the band has just announced a U.S. tour, their first since early 2008. Here are the tour dates:
