The Sea and Cake sets off Car Alarm with tour

The Sea and Cake were in on the birth of post-rock, but have outlasted it by a good distance (hell, with bands like Battles you could even make a case for the inevitable revival being underway already). If you've been paying attention, you already know that they're continuing to move into the future with their new album, Car Alarm, set for an October 21 release on Thrill Jockey (the label they've stuck with since the beginning, lo these last 14 years). Now we've learned that you can hear your Cake and Sea it too, when they hit the road to let the nation now that the Alarm has been set off. As if that wasn't enough all by itself, you'll also get a chance to see either Field Music or Death Vessel as part of the deal (or both, if you're the coast-hopping type).
