The Roots, Yo La Tengo, Built To Spill Playing Hopscotch Festival 2012

The Hopscotch Festival, based in Raleigh, NC, has become one of the most welcome additions to the festival calendar. The event is now entering its third year, and will take place over Sept. 6-8 across 14 venues in the downtown area of Raleigh. Around 165 artists are expected to play Hopscotch, with the Roots, the Jesus & Mary Chain, Yo La Tengo and Built To Spill among the biggest names.

Tickets for the festival are available in a variety of packages—head over here to investigate those. Other acts confirmed to play include Liars, Sunn O))), Danny Brown, Thee Oh Sees, Death Grips, Deerhoof, Zola Jesus, Laurel Halo, Lambchop, Cities Aviv, Oneida, Wye Oak and Colin Stetson.

“We’ve added three larger rooms, but we’ve also kept the walkable downtown footprint,” said Hopscotch founder and director Greg Lowenhagen. “It should still feel like Hopscotch weekend here in Raleigh. The festival just features more national names mixed in with local favorites.”
