The Roots To Receive Mural In Their Honor From City Of Philadelphia

Philly hip-hop magnates The Roots are soon to be honored with their own mural. The City of Philadelphia Mural Arts Project, which is overseeing the undertaking, has assembled a group of local artists and hopes to have the mural completed by November of this year.

The mural will be located at the World Communications Charter School, 1433 South Street. The group intends to use the mural in conjunction with a multimedia campaign for Roots 101, their youth arts initiative. Never shy about their hometown pride or their commitment to civic issues it’s only fitting that the group be immortalized this way. [Pitchfork]
